Shot on 8mm film, See Chinatown with Love celebrates the Lunar New Year by highlighting the community solidarity and strength of Chinatown’s small business economy which still thrives in spite of all the challenges of this past year. The film directed by Adam Zhu, a life-long chinatown resident, captures many of the neighborhood’s beloved sites and businesses. The short video portrait acts as an homage to the director’s roots and to the Chinatown community featuring calligraphy by his father and score by composer and musician Ohyung.
See Chinatown With Love is presented as part of “From Chinatown, With Love”, a Lunar New Year Calendar co-produced by The Abrons Arts Center.
